Stepping out of History
Bruce asked the question some time ago what brought you to SearchWarp and why did you stay? Or something like that. Well, I came by chance it seemed. Id just learned about writing articles and wanted to promote my blog. I had a list of article directories and was just doing it by rote.
But SearchWarp was different to the other directories. It just looked as if real humans hung out there. I didn't really understand the readers club or all the different options. Got the fan club, though, I understood that one my first fan club ever, Whoopeee! Still, I was a bit uncertain of myself, so I wrote my article and left it at that. Computer and Internet illiterate doesn't come close to describing me.
Blow me down if I didn't get a personal welcome! Huh. I was right, real people. Then Jean chose my article for her pick of the day. What?? That was a first for me, too. But it didn't stop there. People began leaving comments on what Id written. Very strange. Real real-humans. Now the truth is, I expected people to dislike what Id written. Or at best tolerate it. I didn't expect the great strokes or the down and dirty friendliness, compassion, humor, the inspiring articles. Oh, " down and dirty friendliness " doesn't sound right but you know what I mean. The rest is history - hah! I've always wanted a place to say that.
The friends I've made, the people I've met in this virtual village, have filled a gap in my life. I've been inspired, moved, provoked to thought, encouraged and entertained here, so this is where I've chosen my quotes from.

I am so tired of the drama. Can't we all just settle down and get down to the business of leading happy, well-adjusted, non-violent lives? Apparently not. I really do wish we didn't have a history of using wars to fix the economy. - Dianne Lehman
-Narrowmindedness is an emotional problem. - Jean Horst
Any talent a person possesses should be explored to its fullest potential, for our own satisfaction, and edification - if it brings some measure of help, enjoyment or happiness to others in the process, that's icing on the cake. - Ella from Texas

Over the rainbow lies a land that is promising to all of us we only need to capture its true essence. It isn't hard to dream the impossible dream for even the impossible is possible if we dare to put it into existence. - David Tanguay

More commentsGreat article! I came to SW and stayed because of the "down and "dirty" support!I suspect we all did, Ken!
very interestig article with an nice writing style. why worry what other people think. Thanks, Peter. And worrying about what other people think is a pointless exercise!
You know Jennifer, this is just my 2nd day at search warp but I know exactly what you mean by the "human" spirit that differentiates this site from conventional writing directories.Search warp is for those who write for passion not those who write for a living. You definitely belong to the first group and hey, your writing style is awesome :).Here is one of my favorite quotes that I'm sure you will add to your collection:"success is reaching your goals while enjoying every step of the way" - Susan JeffersI hope you enjoyed my comment as much as I enjoyed reading your article. All the best :)
Hi Hebna, welcome to Searchwarp :) and yes, I enjoyed your comment immensely - thanks!
jen, well done. i think that is what bruce was asking for and you're the only one who did the homework assignment correctly. who is this 'limo' guy?? what's he smoke'n?You made me smile twice. Re the assignment, thinking back to school days I never did my homework properly, so it's nice to feel like I'm a good girl for a change! As for the 'limo' guy, I didn't get it at first - I thought "limo? Who wrote a quote about a limo?" So I went through the article again - but I get it now, I get it!! Yip, mighty quick on the uptake, that's me.Next you'll be asking me what am I smok'n...
Wonderful. I enjoyed it all and you're right, Searchwarp is different and the main thing is the interaction. Keep writing.....Thanks for commenting, and the great rating. It is the interaction, you're right.
That's great! It help me solve some problems, thanks.I'm so glad to have helped, Cherry.
Got ya! You captured the essence of... Everybody!!! I'm glad I write at Searchwarp and get to meet real people as you say. Who could stay without your reflective articles? The humor of Gregory Lewis and the Fact Digger, the sharp pen of Dianne Lehmann and so many others. I thank you for reading as well my many different efforts to make people get moved and exercise!!!! A kind hug to you!Hi Samantha! You say such lovely things, thanks, and I'm glad you enjoyed the article. I enjoy yours too. Much love to you, also!
Ya, you would have had to put all your quotes in there, and we'd still be reading. You look so much like Ms. Ella from Texas on the front page, it's amazing what a little make up can do isn't it? hehe Good day. This article could do with a follow-up, I think! Do you really think I look like Ella?Ya you look just like her when you come up on Ella's attic, of course so does everyone else. It did come up on Halloween though you know, maybe you wore your Ms. Ella costume. hehe Good day.
Wonderful tribute to the authors at Searchwarp Jennifer. You are truly a special gift to all the people at Searchwarp. You give me such wonderful strokes, Linda, thanks. Truly.
